This page explains how TheRewardsCoach researches, verifies, and corrects the content we publish. It exists so readers can judge our claims by our process, not just take them on faith.

Sourcing and Verification

• Rates, fees, and benefits are checked against the card issuer’s own published terms at the time of writing. Where a rate could plausibly have changed since publication, we note a verification date in the article itself.
• News and benefit-change claims require confirmation from a second independent source before we publish them as fact. A single-source claim is labeled as unconfirmed rather than stated outright, and we update the article once a second source lands or the claim is officially confirmed by the issuer.
• Government and regulatory information (interest calculation rules, consumer protections, and similar topics) is checked against primary sources like the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, not secondhand summaries.
• We use other rewards and personal-finance publications for research and cross-checking, but we do not name or link to competing sites in published articles. This is an editorial choice, not a claim that we’re the only source worth reading, it just keeps our articles focused on the facts rather than on other outlets’ framing of them.

What We Will Not Publish

• We do not publish investment or trading advice. This site covers credit card rewards, not securities or financial instruments, and content that strays into that territory gets removed.
• We do not invent specifics. If a rate, cap, or benefit detail can’t be verified, we say so explicitly in the article rather than filling the gap with a plausible-sounding number.
• We do not overstate a card’s value to drive affiliate clicks. Every recommendation acknowledges who the card is not a good fit for, not just who it suits.

Affiliate Relationships

Some articles contain affiliate links, if you apply for a card through one, we may earn a commission. Affiliate relationships never determine which card we recommend as the “best” pick, that’s decided by the card’s actual earning rates, fees, and benefits relative to the reader’s situation. Where no affiliate relationship exists for a card we think is genuinely the best option, we recommend it anyway and link directly to the issuer.

Authorship

TheRewardsCoach content is produced and reviewed under an editorial process built around the verification standards above, rather than published under an individual byline. We made this choice deliberately: we would rather be transparent that content goes through a systematic research-and-verification process than attach a name to it that implies something about the content’s origin that isn’t accurate. If that changes, this page will say so.

Corrections Policy

When a reader flags an error, or we catch one ourselves through routine review, we investigate the specific claim against primary sources and update the article promptly if it no longer holds up. We don’t quietly edit contested factual claims without resolving the underlying question first, if a claim can’t be verified either way, we say that in the article rather than picking a side. How This Page Itself Gets Checked

This page describes our actual process, not an aspirational one. If you ever find a published article that doesn’t match what’s written here, for example, a claim with no verification date, or a single-sourced news item stated as settled fact, that’s a defect in our process, not an exception to it.
